To access Gwinnett County public records, requesters can use the Open Records Request Form to inspect documents or acquire copies. Although not mandatory, they may use a form when requesting routine records like resolutions, ordinances, plats, minutes, and agendas through an open records request. Written requests are to be submitted to the Police, Courts, Fire, Water Resources, Planning, and Development departments when seeking information. Residents can call the Gwinnett County Probate Court for birth and marriage records, as electronic requests are prohibited. However, they have to contact the Clerk of Court for divorce records, case documents, deeds, or property liens. The Clerk of Court accepts written requests by visiting the office in person or mailing the request.
